Tuesday Beauty

What I dream of using ($70) vs. what I currently use ($27) vs. what I used to use ($5.99). Is it worth it?
Instead of telling you about something I love, today I am hoping that someone can weigh in and tell me about something I've been contemplating. As far as my wardrobe is concerned, I have made a concerted effort this year to clean house. As hard as it is to get rid of things that are "pretty" or "good quality," if they are simply sitting on a rack in my closet gathering dust, then what is the point of keeping them? Instead of filling the space back up with more of the same, I am trying to buy less, but buy better. By better I mean more classic, more timeless, higher quality items that will really stand the test of time, be fabulous every year, and get lots of wear.

In terms of make-up, I have always chosen high quality over the drug store brands (with certain exceptions) because the pigments are richer and the shades and products are generally more in line with the natural look I like to create. (Plus, I really can't stand buying makeup without trying it out on my skin first, which one cannot do at CVS.) But, I have my limits. I don't spend like a crazy person. That being said, there is one "spend it like a crazy lady" item that keeps coming onto my radar and that is the Cle du Peau concealer. I have heard people rave about this, but $70 dollars for concealer sounds like a bit of insanity right there. However, if it made my skin look flawless, yeah, I'd drop that. So, my question to you is, have you tried it? Would you try it? Does it live up to the hype? Is this one worth the splurge?
