existential crisis of my writerly life, I will bake things and see how I do at that. I started out last week by trying this chocolate chip cookie recipe from Sally's Baking Addiction. (I am now addicted to Sally's Baking Addiction and want to try all her recipes.) I thought I'd start nice and easy, with a classic. These did not disappoint. The two secrets I learned were (1) add cornstarch and (2) put extra chocolate chips on the outside of the balls of dough before baking. Genius! Because of the cornstarch, the cookies have a wonderfully chewy consistency and stay really fresh for quite a few days. Hop on over to this terrific blog, and try these cookies.
