What's On Your Vanity?

Blue Votive, Diptyque Candle, Cetaphil Skin Cleanser, Olivina Body Lotion
I am excited to bring you the vanity of the lovely Ashley Swartz. Ashley and I met through our husbands, who went to college together. I have always admired her sense of style, her seemingly effortless beauty, and her genuine and warm personality, so I was eager to get a peak and what she does to look so lovely every day! Ashley incorporated both her vanity items and some terrific tips for staying zen.

Ashley writes,
Blue Votive: My uncle from Stockholm gave me this iitala/alvar aalto votive years ago. I still love the tiny pop of color and I like to have a small candle burning in the bathroom when we have company.
Diptyque Candle: Like taking a drive through Tuscany, this luxury candle captures the Italian Cypress aroma with a spicy, woodsy blend and an oak tree finish. My husband isn't a fan of scented candles, so I light this on the weekends when I'm getting ready to go out on the town and have the bathroom to myself.

Cetaphil Skin Cleanser: I have sensitive skin and my dermatologist told me to stop using scented bath products. Major sad face.

Olivina Body Lotion: It's really hard for me to give up scented body products altogether, so I tend to ignore my dermatologist's advice once a week and indulge in Olivina bath products from Napa Valley. Their Classic Olive lotion is to die for.

Estee Lauder Hydra Lipstick - #32 Limited Edition Princess Grace Coral: Inspired by the beautiful shade of lipstick Princess grace wore on her wedding day to Prince Rainier, Estee Lauder designer a special, limited edition shade of Princess Grace Coral for its Signature Hydra Lustre line in 2007. Yes, this lipstick was made in 2007, but I am still in love with the lipstick's fragrance and color, so I kept the last bit in hopes that I can find another just like it. For some reason it's always remained on my vanity - probably because I like a hint of gold.

Laura Mercier Products: I use the following products every.single.day and will not leave my apartment without them: Hazelnut Tea Lip Pencil - A pale lip gloss - 'Tightline' Cake Eye Liner in Bleu Marine (Navy blue liner is a better everyday color for my  fair skin tone than black.) - Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20, Oil Free in Nude (Evens out blotchy ski in seconds.) - Secret Camouflage Concealer (Gets rid of any blemishes and brightens my eyes without looking cakey.)
Benefit "They're Real!" Mascara: Another daily staple

Fresh Flowers: Having fresh flowers in our apartment is one of my favorite indulgences. I like to keep flowers in places where we spend a lot of time or in the bathroom where they might provide a hint of serenity as I'm getting ready for work in the morning.

Eau D'Italie Perfume: The scent of Italy from the famous hotel Le Sirenuse. Warm terra cotta tiles, the cool sea breeze, a touch of citrus with a hint of the Mediterranean vegetation evoke the air of the Amalfi Coast. It's a masculine scent, but after hearing that model/makeup artist Jemma Kid wears it, I decided to take the plunge and buy it. Every time I spritz this on I feel like I should be jumping off of a boat in the Mediterranean - even if I'm heading to my bus in 30 degree weather. I'm also obsessed with the packaging.

Isis Ceramic Plate: My husband's aunt, Deborah Sears, paints these gorgeous plates in Oxford, England. We have a great collection to hold knick knacks, jewelry, and other small items. She has a more affordable line, Country Estate, with Juliska for the budget-conscious.
I indulge in everyday products and fragrances more than anything else since I use/wear them every day, but after reading through my vanity list, I feel like I have a somewhat obsessive relationship with fragrances.....hmmm.
Thank you so much for sharing, Ashley. I went to the Diptyque store in Paris, but have yet to bite the bullet and burn my candle. I just want to keep it forever! And Le Sirenuse? To die for.
