Dream Room: Bedroom Design Part I

My dear friend (and former student), Annie, wrote me recently to say that her parents are renovating their house and she has the opportunity to update her bedroom. I thought it would be fun to put together a series of posts for her that might inspire her new decor. Over the next few weeks, I'll be scouring my sources for the perfect combination of items to give her the room of her dreams. I'll put up some inspiration (or Pin-spiration as the case may be), and Annie can give me feedback so we can fine tune as we go. Let's begin, shall we?

I wanted to start with some inspirational bedroom photos to get a better sense of Annie's aesthetic. She told me that this was the look she wanted, but in different colors:

This bedroom belongs to one of the gorgeous sisters behind A Piece of Toast. Here is the breakdown on Annie's request:

Colors: grey, pink, white (perhaps with a touch of blue)
Furniture: a colorful headboard (duvet with colors to complement), big open glass lamps
Vibe: simple and sophisticated

The bedroom above encompasses the general aesthetic she is going for, but I've added some bolder design options because, well, if you hadn't noticed, I kind of have a thing for color.

I had to throw that last one in because I'm obsessed with the colors...might be a bit much for Annie's "simple" request, but it's good to have options.
