Fabulous Friday

So this week SUCKED. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. It really did. But, in every week that sucks (I know that word is so fifth grade, but sometimes you need a fifth grade word to clearly articulate how you are feeling) I have to find the fabulous so that I can bring it to you on Friday! My little light in the dark this week came in the form of Carin Olsson of the blog Paris in Four Months. In preparation for my trip (which by the way is beginning one week from today, and I am fully aware that no one wants to hear about it anymore, but it's almost over, so hang in there!), I scanned the internet looking for some blogs that might clue me in to where to go and what to do, and I found Carin's blog; to say that it is beautiful is an understatement. She takes all the photos herself, and they are works of art! I would seriously buy them and hang them in my house immediately. She also currently works at Diane von Furstenberg, and she lives in Paris. All signs point to this girl being unbelievably cool. And, what I've discovered about unbelievably cool people is that sometimes they are not very nice.

Anyway, I sent Carin an email on a whim telling her about my trip and asking her for her top five restaurants in Paris. I never expected to get a response, but I thought, why not? Not only did Carin respond, but she did so within about an hour, and she was so gracious and lovely. Cool and nice? Now that is a winning combination.

So, when the skies are looking grey, remember that there are always people out there who truly believe that it's nice to be nice, and those people are just fabulous.

Have a beautiful weekend.

P.S. My husband was also beyond fabulous to me this week as I was dealing with a few things that felt like they were rocking my world. He's pretty nice, too.

  1. Sorry to hear you're having a rough week. Hope it all turns around.

And I clicked on that blog link. Wow. Stunning photos!

  2. Thanks for thinking of me. :)

I wish I could take pictures like that! So stunning. Have a great weekend.

  3. I'm also sorry to hear about the troubles. Paris in a week sounds like it could cure most ills. :)
